Dan came over today to film a lecture for the high school. While we were filming, someone was in my room. Dan saw the person through my window from the backyard. The strange thing is that there is no sign that anyone broke in, or was there at all. The room was in order, nothing was tossed over, the front door was locked, and the only other way to get in was through the back door, which we were standing in front of. All that was left was a note on the bed.
The contents of the note are strange. It's a passage from the Pardoner's Tale by Geoffrey Chaucer. At first I thought it was just a piece of paper Dan had left there; but he insisted that it not only wasn't his, but that it wasn't written in his hand-writing. The passage reads:
Thus walke I, lyk a restelees caityf,
And on the ground, which is my modres gate,
I knokke with my staf, bothe erly and late,
And seye, 'Leve moder, leet me in!' (lines 266-69)
Dan showed me the translation, which reads:
so I walk like a restless prisoner,
and on the ground, which is my mother's gate,
I knock with my staff, both early and late,
and say, 'Dear mother, let me in!'
Who is it that walks like a prisoner? I feel like a prisoner in my own home, knowing that there is someone who can come and go as they please. What is it that this person is trying to say?
There are strange happenings in my house; besides this incident, my room has been colder than it ever was.

Change of Plans
Dan said that he didn't have time to film at the school, and so wondered if he could just come over here to film a few clips to post onto his you tube account. That was fine by me, as I wasn't too keen on taking a day off to work without pay. So he'll just come over here to do the filming after work.
I checked the thermostat in my room- it's set to about 65, but it feels like it's 40. I'll probably have to get that fixed.

Helping Out
Decided to start this blog to keep track of what I'm up to lately. It's not so much a journal as it is a panoramic of my weekly happenings. Just too much to keep track of with this new job. Oh well.
Dan contacted me the other day. He asked if I could help him film something for work at the high school. That should be interesting I guess. Said they were reading some middle English poem. So I'll help him out with that in a few days. After that, I don't know how often I'll be available. I've been staying late trying to update those old reels.
It's been cold lately in my room. Don't know why, but just thought I'd mention it.
